When running Meta Ads, looking at your overall campaign performance doesn't always tell the full story.

Meta can deliver your ads across different platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and other Meta placements. While your campaign may be performing well overall, the performance can be very different from one platform to another.

In the video below, I walk through how to find the platform report in Meta Ads Manager and compare performance across Facebook, Instagram, and other platforms.

How to Check Platform Performance

Meta Ads Manager allows you to break down your advertising results by platform.

By using the Platform breakdown in your reporting, you can compare metrics such as:

  • Impressions

  • Reach

  • Clicks

  • CTR

  • Cost per click

  • Conversions

  • Cost per conversion

  • Spend

For example, you may discover that Instagram is generating more clicks, while Facebook is generating conversions at a lower cost. Looking at the overall campaign numbers alone wouldn't necessarily reveal this difference.

Why Platform-Level Analysis Matters

Breaking down your results by platform can help you understand where your advertising budget is actually performing best.

However, don't automatically assume that the platform with the lowest CPC or highest CTR is the winner. The most important metric depends on your campaign objective.

Platform-level reporting can therefore be a useful part of your regular Meta Ads analysis and optimization process.
